DICK WHITTINGTON
A traditional panto with a full cast of zany characters, including first-mate Mr Lubber Lubber, and King Rat's henchmen, Rat Damon and Rat Leblanc! This gag-packed script is bursting with classic panto routines including the ghost scene, mop scene, Shirley Shaw's Sushi Store and a messy kitchen scene!
CHARACTERS
Dick Whittington - Our determined and buoyant hero. Heads to London to seek fortune and fame, but quickly finds something more important.
The Cat - A joker of physical comedy. A cat of few words.
Alice Fitzwarren - Smitten with Dick, but not a damsel in distress. Has her own strength and independence, and makes choices for herself.
Dame Dolly Mixture - Our outrageous dame. Head confectioner at Fitz’s Fizzes and Idle Jack’s mother.
Idle Jack - The lazy layabout, looking for a short cut. Less energetic than the usual comic, but still the charismatic audience link man rattling off gags.
Alderman Fitzwarren - A bumbling dad who loves a dad joke, and loves to laugh at his dad jokes. Owns the family business - Fitz’s Fizzes Sweet Shop.
King Rat - Treads a line between menacing, maniacal and camp.
Fairy Bowbells- Our delightful heavenly fairy, until she isn’t. In actuality, an East End cockney.
Captain Foil-Hat - A wacky sea captain sailing across a world of his own.
Mr Lubber Lubber - An everyday Joe accidentally caught up in events. Confused but just goes along with it.
Sultan of Morocco - Spoiled and ungrateful. A big kid unsatisfied and stropping at his own extravagant birthday party.
Rat Damon - The muscle. Typical tough man.
Rat Leblanc - The brains. Italian-American mafia type.

EXCERPT FROM ACT I SCENE TWO: FITZ'S FIZZES © Oh Yes It Is Pantos.
ALDERMAN FITZWARREN: Welcome to Fitz’s Fizzes, my confectionary emporium. You are standing in London’s very first American Candy Store, right in the heart of Oxford Street. Unfortunately, we are unable to import any American sweets as it’s the fourteenth Century and America hasn’t been discovered yet. So I concoct them all myself, with a Skittle help from my friends!
CHORUS MEMBER 1: Oi Alderman, why has the price of these mints gone up?
ALDERMAN FITZWARREN: Oh, that’ll be the tic tax!
ALICE: Father, I was hoping we could offer Dick and Tommy a job? They’ve travelled all the way from Lancashire with nothing but the contents of Dick’s sack.
ALDERMAN FITZWARREN: Well, confectionary is a difficult business, but it’s never too late to teach an old dog new Twix!
